New film by Muse devoted to Drones tour in 2016
Good news for the fans of incredible MUSE! The new film by MUSE, shot during Drones tour in 2016, will be half concert, half documentary. The staff photographer of the band Hans-Peter first told the news. He has already watched the first pilot version of the film and was very pleased.
This rock band has always been distinguished for its strong and serious songs on political, social and philosophical themes. The latest album causes special feelings, as it focuses on current problems of mankind. These songs tell about human mechanization, industrialization of life, about how technology affects relationships between people, about intelligence and how it all can be dangerous.
Today, it is especially urgent problem that should encourage people to stop destroying. We can say, this was the main topic for the last two or three albums of the band. War has always been the engine of technological progress, and only recently the technologies have become an entertainment. Technologies kill individuality and make masses out of people, by which it is easier to manage.
Explaining the main themes of the album, the band pointed out deep ecology, the empathy gap, and World War III. Also, Matthew Bellamy claimed:
“To me, drones are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behaviour with no recourse. The world is run by drones utilising drones to turn us all into drones. This album explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors.”
They call Drones as “a modern metaphor for what it is to lose empathy…”, though their live shows can’t leave indifferent anyone.
Let’s recall that the album Drones has won the Grammy Award as Best Rock Album at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards February 15, 2016.
